WordPress users on dot com now have enhanced code editors available for post, site, and the additional CSS input boxes. It is not certain if these features will be added to the dot org version of WordPress, though usually they are.

The WooCommerce team has been working this year on a block-based theme as a successor to Storefront. It was apparently called “Purple.” It was about ready for release when the Woo team pulled it. They decided instead of include the patterns, templates and style variations in the WooCommerce plugin.

Meta Box has added the ability to reorder posts, pages, and Custom Post Type articles without the need for an additional plugin. This feature is available in their Custom Post Type extension.

We have now an overview of WordPress 6.9, which is targeting December 2nd for release. There are a lot of areas where improvements are planned, some of them are for developers and others will be user facing. Simplified editing and collaborative commenting are two of the more major areas.

Divi 5’s new loop builder has been introduced. You can loop any element, posts, terms, and even ACF repeater fields.

Figma is going public with an IPO.

Elementor continues work on Editor v4 with the 3.31 beta. It includes color and font variables, CSS filters, class manager enhancements, and more.

Bricks version 2.0 contains a slew of new features that improve the builder ui, styling capabilities, workflow enhancements, component updates, performance improvements, and new and updated elements.

WordPress 6.8.2 was released with 35 core bug fixes and 15 Gutenberg fixes.
