WordPress 6.7 has been released. I’ve updated 2 sites. It seemed slow and I got an error on one site about a bad gateway, but then retried and it succeeded.

This release has a number of nice features. You can now password protect your site or particular pages, Masonry layouts are now available for all layout options, query filters now have support for custom fields, a number of new WooCommerce conditions have been added, and more. Another bit of news is that work is going well on components and they anticipate an early preview being ready before the end of the year.

Another Divi 5 update from Elegant Themes. Along with the Public Alpha Version 3 release, here’s the good news, “New bug reports have slowed down, and we are fixing new bugs faster than they are being reported, which means the end to this bug bash is in sight.”

ACF released the results of their annual survey. There are some interesting results. For example, hybrid theme use has caught up to classic themes and Bricks is the #2 most popular builder among the respondents.

Wow, the Generate team has done it again. The alpha versions of GenerateBlocks free and pro have been released. They were totally rewritten, made ultimately performant in that every thing is rendered before saving so no front-end rendering is needed. Also there is good attention to flexibility. For example, the new Query Loop can loop over ACF repeaters and other data as well as post queries. There is a new dynamic tag system for dynamic data and it is easy to register your own. Read about these changes and watch a video overview on the announcement page.
