Breakdance now offers a single site license and they raised their unlimited site package to $199 a year. Those who already have a subscription won’t be impacted by the price change.

Much of this is technical, but it is good to see attention to optimization being carried out for WordPress core.

Cwicly Spotlight 4 was held today with more walk-throughs and demos of the upcoming components beta release next week. Also mentioned was that now that Cwicly is maturing there will be a price increase in the coming weeks.

Hmm, it looks like a redesign of the admin is also part of Gutenberg Phase 3. This doesn’t seem like feature creep, but more like Phase 3 is a catchall. Many of items being discussed are in need or refactoring and improvements, so I don’t have any complaints. Is it “Gutenberg” because it will be done with blocks?

This post from Matias Ventura is an expansion on the Gutenberg Phase 3 discussion. It talks about block management, which many will be happy to see.

This is interesting, as part of Gutenberg Phase 3 they have starting looking at improving the media library.

For those who are following the Divi 5 rewrite, there is an update about extendability and a cool proof of concept Gutenberg block to Divi module function.

Spectra Pro v.1 has been released. If you purchased the Astra Growth Bundle then you can now download Spectra Pro from your account page. Note that there is also a version of the free version that you will need as I’m not sure it has been updated on WordPress org yet.

WordPress (finally) drops support for PHP 5. Beginning with WordPress 6.3, the minimum required version will be 7.0 and 7.4 will be the recommended version.
