The NY Post is a very large WordPress multi-site instance that publishes about 300 articles a day, has many authors in the admin writing at the same time, and has a large number of simultaneous visitors. This WCUS presentation gives an overview of the techniques used to scale the site. It is something of a list of things that can go wrong and types of fixes.

I’m logging in and out of WordPress websites all day long. There is a free web browser extension called WordPress Admin Switcher that makes this quicker. It is a nice quality of life enhancement that works on Chrome and Chromium based browsers.

I was asking about creating color palettes in the Core Framework Facebook group and the Realtime Colors site was suggested. What is cool about this site is that you can set your colors using the bar at the bottom of the page and the site applies the colors you’ve chosen. Hat tip to Zeik Sparrow for the suggestion.

Joost has a new Progress Planner plugin. This is not a plugin for agencies and freelancers, but rather for bloggers, entrepreneurs, and DIY site owners. Progress Planner gamifies content creation and site maintenance tasks for people who aren’t necessarily “pros” and might need guidance. There is currently a beta of the free version in the WP plugin directory and they are planning a pro version for the future.

Joshua Gugun Siagian created an implementation of Tailwind CSS 4 for WordPress called WindPress (previously called Yabe Siul). WindPress is lightweight, fast, and compiles in the browser, so no calls to an external server are needed. The developer has just released a free version on the WordPress plugin directory for Gutenberg, Greenshift, Kadence, and Timber. Builders such as Bricks, Breakdance, Oxygen and others require the pro version.
