Toolset has a bug fix, compatibility, and performance release.

A few weeks ago I installed the latest build of Etch and tried it out. It seems to still be in the code first stage and I ended up searching through posts in the Circle group for answers to questions I had. Now the Etch team has started on a documentation site. Many of the topic s are still “More to come…” but they are starting to be filled out and should be useful for those who want to experiment with the developer builds.

The WordPress core team announced plans for another major release in 2025. Version 6.9 was originally scheduled for next year but Matt has called for another release in 2025. It is uncertain what will be included, perhaps some projects and improvements that have already been underway? Matt mentioned in an interview that he would like to have the Admin redesign shipped this year.

WordPress 6.8.2 RC 1 is available for testing. It includes 20 fixes for core and 15 for Gutenberg.

It looks like WordFence is following in Patchstack’s footsteps and is now offering a Vulnerability Management service for plugin and theme developers.

Bricks 2.0 Release Candidate 2 is available. Components are no longer considered experimental, instant class edit for situations so that where there are a large number of classes there is no lag, add elements using the command palette and an Emmet-like syntax, preload fonts, and more.

GenerateBlocks Pro 2.2 adds a new Site Header and Navigation blocks. Navigation is one of the weak points in the Site Editor, but most will probably use these with the GeneratePress theme builder.

InstaWP is changing their pricing model to pay as you go. Details here (slightly confusing).

WooCommerce 10.0 is scheduled for release on July 7th. There are a number of updates and features. A big on is that WooCommerce 10.0, when used with a core WordPress or accessibility-ready theme, will be fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA and substantially conformant with level AAA.
