Highlights of Oxygen 6.1 beta include the ability to select multiple elements with Cmd/Ctrl+click or Shift+click. Drag, bulk-edit, copy, delete, or wrap them as a group. Variable font support with a numeric weight input. Conditional Oxygen classes that only apply when their rules match. Updates to Breakdance Elements, along with a number of other features.

The release of Oxygen 6.0 is just around the corner. I made a video for new Oxygen users that gives a tour of the settings and editor interface. There is a video version linked near the top. At the end of the article I share some thoughts on the new Oxygen as well as some pros and cons.

Oxymade was one of the add-on developers who created a CSS framework and pre-designed template kits for the original Classic Oxygen. And now that Oxygen 6 is nearing a 1.0 release, people are starting to wonder what add-ons might make sense for them. And I think that with Oxygen 6, people probably will want to use a CSS framework. Oxymade is one of the first options available for the new Oxygen 6.

Oxygen 6 Beta 5 was just released. It includes a number of fixes but also adds new Grid alignment icons, inline editing for Text Link, and CSS variable support for Opacity.

It looks like Oxygen 6 is in its final stretch before it comes out of beta. The team has just released beta 4 and plan to have the final version out by January 15th. By all accounts the “New Oxygen” is coming together very nicely and is very performant. This announcement covers the updates in this beta.

This release introduces features like a Term Loop Builder element, a reimagined Code Editor, upgrades to Design Sets, fresh UI improvements, and lots of refinements to improve building in Oxygen. It also includes updates to the Breakdance extensions.

The Oxygen team released a full rewrite of the popular Oxygen page builder. Is shares a lot of code with Breakdance but has a UI for web professionals interested in a class first workflow. The upgrade is not backwards compatible with previous versions, though the “classic” version will continue to be supported. It is free for current Oxygen license holds as well as for Breakdance users with an active license.
