The maintenance release WordPress 6.2.1 is scheduled for May 16th. It includes a number of fixes to core and Gutenberg. The release candidate is available for testing.

The WordPress marketing team has organized a campaign called from Blogs to Blocks to celebrate the upcoming 20th anniversary of WordPress. It will run from today until May 27th. They will provide prompts each day and invite people in the community to participate. Information is here if you want to join in.

Scott Kingsley Clark on the Pods blog announces that the first beta of Pods 3.0 is available. A main feature of this release is conditional logic based on field values where you can show or hide a field based on the value of another field.

The team behind Stackable Blocks has launched a new website, WPBlockTips, with helpful tips for working with the block editor. It looks like there are a few dozen tips so far.

Patchstack announces new plans and pricing. They have reimagined their offering and introduced a new Developer plan. They also are adding new reports.

Phil Kurth of Hookturn is releasing a new ACF extension plugin called ACF Remote Sync. It lets you sync field groups across sites.

The ACF team is offering an annual survey with the first one starting now. I’ve been very happy to see the direction that ACF is taking and asking for feedback like this is another example. If you are using ACF then sharing how you use it and providing input could be helpful to the team.

From Mathieu Viet of the BuddyPress team shares that BuddyPress is preparing for some big changes. There is some self-reflection and course correction about the project focus and purpose that sounds promising.

The Amazon team has launched “CodeWhisperer” which is an AI code assistant similar to Github’s Copilot, except that it is free for personal use. It looks very interesting.
