They had been getting work offers from AI-related businesses, which they turned down. He blogged about how his agency didn’t use AI and wouldn’t do AI related projects. PressConf is the “un-WordCamp” slanted towards business owners. Reading between the lines, it seems that a number of WordPress business are experiencing a downturn. Perhaps this sums it up: “My overall takeaway from the sessions: the people who were most optimistic about the future were the ones who had already started moving toward an AI-first business model, and were pushing beyond WordPress. That’s my personal observation and a pattern I noticed in every conversation I had.”
