Yikes, this is scary. Thomas J. Raef reports that WordPress management consoles such as ManageWP, WPUmbrella, and MainWP have been used to compromise connected child sites. It seems the exact way the parent sites are being compromised is not certain, but possibly from site admins using open WiFi networks. There isn’t an indication that ManageWP, WPUmbrella, or MainWP themselves have been hacked.

WordPress com vs org got a write up in Smashing Magazine. I don’t know about changing the name, but better “co-branding” that clarifies the differences between the platform and the CMS could help.

This WPTavern article has more information about the journey of Mike McAlister in his efforts to get the Ollie theme accepted into the theme directory. It is interesting that Matt Mullenweg and Josepha Haden Chomphosy urged accepting it as an experiment, but I guess that is not going to happen.

Congratulation to the ACSS and Cwicly teams. Automatic.css version 2.7 includes official support and integration with Cwicly. It is great to see the cooperation and coming together of two advanced WordPress toolkits. The synergy will be of benefit to the entire builder ecosystem.

The Font Library feature coming in WordPress 6.4 will be a nice addition. It will provide a standard way for managing fonts and serving them locally.
For power users and developers it is not uncommon to need to use Composer to install libraries and dependencies. This article from Kinsta has instructions for installing Composer on Windows, Mac and Linux.
