Part of Gutenberg phase 3 is a redesign of the WordPress admin. Contributors are starting to propose designs.

Gutenberg 16.4 introduces auto-inserting blocks feature, and other enhancements.

The WordPress Gutenberg team is working on adding a new interactivity API so that developers can create blocks that support users content interactions. The project has progressed to the initial testing stage and those interested are invited to help.

The latest version of the Gutenberg plugin, 16.3, added some features for working with patterns. These won’t be included in the forthcoming 6.3 release of WordPress, but will be in 6.4

Justin Tadlock released a new plugin for displaying breadcrumbs. The intent is that the block can be used in the Site Editor when making theme templates. Here is a discussion and walk-through.

Hmm, it looks like a redesign of the admin is also part of Gutenberg Phase 3. This doesn’t seem like feature creep, but more like Phase 3 is a catchall. Many of items being discussed are in need or refactoring and improvements, so I don’t have any complaints. Is it “Gutenberg” because it will be done with blocks?
