Brian Gardner, who is a well known theme creator, has gone all in on block themes. In this video he shows how to create a home page using Gutenberg and the Site Editor. The video might be of interest to people who are not familiar with creating layouts with these tools.

This is an interesting video from Jamie Marsland. He recreates the look of 10 websites using the block editor. The video is kind of long, but there are chapters in the description. Note that he is recreating “the look” and not the website functionality.

The fact that Taylor Swift’s website is using WordPress means that the CMS wars are over 🙂 The fact that it is poorly done technically means that everyone who is honing their site building skills can, on some level, do a better job than the celebrity agency that made her site.

This short video provides a quick look at forthcoming changes to the Site Editor for WordPress 6.3. Changes for accessing and editing menus, pages, styles, template parts and patterns.

Development for WordPress 6.3 includes a reorganization and expansion of the Site Editor’s navigation. For example, a Design page might provide a menu for accessing Page, Styles, Navigation, Templates, and Library. The Library interface might include a menu for managing theme parts that you have created, such as headers, footers, post meta, the Site Logo, and a Font Library.

Most block themes don’t include a sidebar. Not everyone has gotten used to the skinny content only area without sidebars. This tutorial show you several ways to include a sidebar.
