Katie Keith runs Barn2, a plugin shop that sells a number of Woo extensions. She did a survey asking people why they choose WooCommerce. It is interesting to see, or be reminded, that WooCommerce is very flexible. Today with SureCart and FluentCart that flexibility and range of extensions is one of Woo’s advantages, if you need it.

The WooCommerce team has been working this year on a block-based theme as a successor to Storefront. It was apparently called “Purple.” It was about ready for release when the Woo team pulled it. They decided instead of include the patterns, templates and style variations in the WooCommerce plugin.

WooCommerce 10.0 is scheduled for release on July 7th. There are a number of updates and features. A big on is that WooCommerce 10.0, when used with a core WordPress or accessibility-ready theme, will be fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA and substantially conformant with level AAA.

Some time ago WooCommerce added High Performance Order Storage (HPOS) which offers significant performance improvements. Unfortunately, this broke compatibility with ACF. Before HPOS orders were saved as a Custom Post Type but HPOS introduced its own table structure. The ACF team just released an update for ACF Pro that makes it compatible with WooCommerce HPOS so that you can use custom fields, option pages, ACF blocks, etc with the new table structure.
