Marko Krstic has released a free plugin on the WordPress plugin directory. It helps you find where blocks are used and also helps you find where synced patterns have been used. This is useful if you are changing out block collections, among other uses.

The entire Patchstack app is now available as an API for free for people on their Developer plan. This allows for the integration of Patchstack with your own workflow and automations.

Here is a summary of today’s events and a discussion of what they might mean for the project in 2025. Is a fork, or maybe a community distro, inevitable?

The plugin version of Gutenberg, version 19.9 was released. By looking at the features released in the plugin we can see what will be included in the next WordPress release. Some of the new features include the Style Book is available for classic themes, you can now show the number of records returned when using the Query Loop block, and you can set the home page from within the Site Editor.

This is an interesting community development. Hopefully it will provide a channel for sponsoring WordPress contributions.

Bricks has released 1.12 beta. The long awaited Components feature is available for creating reusable elements, with an experimental status. You can use dynamic data in the Query Loop for include/exclude settings, there is optimized CSS loading, enhancements to the Query Filters, and more.

The State of the Word Tokyo – a very professional presentation. Matias Ventura’s portion presenting the progress of Gutenberg is very good. They will be adding mobile responsive capabilities.

Oxygen 4.9.1 is mainly a fix release, but it does have a new feature, the ability to copy and paste display conditions between elements.

The WP Engine tracker says that 24,510 websites left from WP Engine since September 21st. They are now showing where they moved to also.
