For developers: WordPress 6.1 added the “did_filter” function to check if your filter has already been run during the current page load. It is a bit esoteric, but useful if you need it.

BuddyPress to get the ability to restrict access to members only without using any additional plugin. This feature has been requested since forever. It is scheduled to be included in the next release around the end of October.

The WordPress, Drupal, Joomla!, and TYPO3 projects have jointly signed a letter to the legislators of the European Union raising concerns with the proposed Cyber Resilience Act. Some terms of the proposed Act are not well defined and some provisions may be too broad in their application, which might impact the contributions to open source software.

You can now send your blog content as a newsletter from your WordPress site using Jetpack subscriptions and the new newsletter feature. It is free, but if you charge your subscribers then you pay a percentage for the service.
