Checking a website’s accessibility is import for usability and conversions. If people can’t read or use the site, they go elsewhere. In this training Gen Herres does a super fast audit and a quick audit and then compares those to a detailed page audit.
Many of these are tests that people can run with a small amount of training and find out much more information than automated tests provide.

The HTTP Archive published a report on the state of accessibility on the web. Twenty content management systems and website platforms were ranked by accessibility based on scores from the Lighthouse Accessibility audit. WordPress is in the list, but not at the top.

Recordings are now available from WP accessibility day 2024, an online conference held last month. The recordings for all of the presentations are now captioned, transcribed, and include ASL interpretation. Recordings are labeled with a level of accessibility experience. There is a good mix of topics including changes in the legal requirements and a number of tutorials.
