The Core Framework is a new toolkit for creating and customizing your own CSS framework. There is a UI for generating CSS classes and variables and there is a WordPress plugin. At launch the Core Framework has WordPress extensions for Gutenberg, Bricks, and Oxygen. This video is a first look at the features and a quick test using the Gutenberg and Bricks extensions.

Spectra is the Gutenberg addon from the makers of the Astra theme. The pro version is just being released now. The video considers the Spectra Pro ecosystem, does a walk-through of using it in the Full Site Editor, and discusses the strengths, weaknesses, and positioning of Spectra. From the I’m sure it is controversial department – Elegant Themes tested a bunch of WordPress hosting providers and the top three fastest were SiteGround, Pressable, and Cloudways. In this post they test these three against each other and SiteGround comes out first. I would have thought that Kinsta or WP Engine would perform better, but it has been a while since I used SiteGround.
